Domain names are converted to IP addresses and vice versa via the Domain Name System, called DNS for short. For example, a domain name blog.yourdomain.nl is hosted on a server. This server has its own IP address. The DNS ensures that a visitor who requests the domain blog.yourdomain.nl is linked to the correct server with the correct IP address and thus sees your website.
All kinds of other things are also arranged via the DNS, such as linking your e-mail program via the MX records to the correct mail server, but also access to the server for file transfer via FTP.
It regularly happens that certain applications (such as the use of an Exchange server) require an adjustment in the DNS. Adjusting the DNS is specialist work and we can do this for you. Via our own DNS structure and our own Name Servers we can configure many different applications for you in the right way. Do you have questions about changing your DNS records? Please do not hesitate to contact us.
