Still, it is helpful if customers know why you are not responding immediately and when they can expect a reply again.
With a few simple settings, you can make sure WhatsApp and email respond automatically while you enjoy your vacation. This way, customers know what to expect, and you can close your laptop with peace of mind.
Set up an automatic reply on WhatsApp
Do you use WhatsApp Business? Then you can set up an automatic away message. Customers who send you a message while you are on vacation will automatically receive a reply.
You can set it up as follows:
- Open WhatsApp Business.
- Go to Settings.
- Select Business tools.
- Tap Away message.
- Turn on the away message.
- Set when the message should be sent.
- If desired, choose which contacts should receive the automatic message.
For example, you could use the following message:
Thank you for your message!
I am currently on vacation and will be available again from [date]. Your message has been received and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Have a great day!
Tip: always clearly mention when you will be available again. This way, customers know what to expect and you can avoid receiving additional messages during your vacation asking when you will reply.
Don't forget your business email
Your business email also deserves some attention while you are on vacation. You can set up an automatic reply so that people who email you immediately know that you are temporarily unavailable.
A professional automatic reply could sound like this:
Thank you for your email.
I will be out of the office on vacation from [date] through [date]. I will be available again from [date] and will respond to your email as soon as possible.
Do you have a question that really cannot wait? If so, you can optionally mention a colleague or alternative contact person.
This way, your communication remains professional, even when you are taking some time off.
